Frangokastello is a medieval castle which is located on the southern coast of Crete, about 12 kilometers east of Chora Sfakion, within the prefecture of Chania. It is one of the most important sights in the area and it is famous for the phenomenon known as “ Drosulites”, which is observed in the meadow around the castle, every year at the end of spring. The central beach of Frangokastello is truly magic, with sand and turquoise shallow water, ideal for children. It is fairly organized and has a lot of people in general.
There are several rooms, taverns, cafes and shops in the area, but the closest cash machine and doctor’s office is located in Chora Sfakion.
